Background. The relevance of exploring the modern model of women's representation is determined by the fixed gender imbalance and gender asymmetry in the political space of the Russian Federation. The gender studies of political representation have accumulated considerable background, the methodological base with a multidisciplinary approach has been formed. Women's participation in power relations has been examined in various aspects: the statistics of women's presence has been analyzed, the qualitative characteristics of the women's composition in the representative bodies have been identified, public opinion on participation of women in public policy has been evaluated. Russian historiography has covered the forming media image of women politicians, image characteristics, and stereotypes of public consciousness. However, there are no comprehensive studies of the opinion of female deputies regarding the problems of women's representation in the political sphere, which determines the relevance and novelty of the research. Materials and methods. The empirical material is collected using the online questionnaire method through placing the questionnaire on the CoogleForms online server and continuous mail-ing to the addressees. The scope of the research is female deputies of regional legislative assemblies and representative bodies of local governments in the administrative centers of the constituent entities in the Russian Federation.
